Could you briefly introduce yourself to our readers? Could you tell us about your company’s activities, its founding story, and the formation process of your new brand?

First of all, I would like to thank the Desen Life magazine family for this interview. In this conversation, rather than focusing on myself as Mehmet Ali KARA, I would like to provide information about our brand, of which I am a Board Member.

The Nexus Luxury Carpet brand is an initiative of ÇİMEN HALI. ÇİMEN HALI is a company with 50 years of experience, having reached a certain level in the carpet industry in terms of distribution and brand creation-development. The formation process of our Nexus L.C. brand began in 2020. Çimen Halı, which had reached a certain point in the Turkish market (under the Toprak Halı brand), founded Nexus L.C. to expand into the global market. The foundations of our brand were laid in 2020, and with the right structuring, supply chain, and timing, we started entering the Turkish market in the last quarter of 2021. By completing our structuring in Turkey in 2022, our brand managed to reach an effective position in this market.

In line with our primary goal of expanding into global markets, we are planning to take an important step by participating in the CFE Carpet & Flooring Expo fair in December 2023. We have no doubt that our brand, which is working to achieve a certain level in the global market, will lay solid foundations at this fair and undertake projects that will make our country proud.


What do you pay attention to when determining product trends?

We make sure that our models are generally in harmony with furniture and wall colors. Besides colors, carpet trends are also a prominent detail in the selection process. Trends are constantly changing; sometimes the colors change, sometimes the patterns. Advances in technology also influence trends in carpet types. At Nexus L.C., when determining product trends, our expert design and R&D teams pay close attention to the current forms and color tones of the smallest elements that can enter our living spaces, such as furniture, curtains, wallpaper, and even the smallest decor items. By completing our design and quality studies at the highest level, we create collections that set the direction for our industry.


What are your criteria when granting new dealerships? Do you organize special events for your dealers?

Nexus Carpet is very selective when it comes to its dealership system. They are careful to work with store owners who can represent and carry the brand correctly. Additionally, dealers with a good service approach are preferred. They organize various campaigns for their dealers throughout the year to strengthen business relationships. As a special event, they offer overseas travel campaigns during certain periods of the year to reward their dealers.


What sets Nexus Carpet apart from its competitors?

Nexus Carpet acknowledges that many companies in the industry are valuable, but where they differentiate themselves is their extensive service network and customer satisfaction approach. They aim to make a difference in the sector with innovative collections, moving beyond just being a brand. As a brand that emphasizes uniqueness and quality in the business world, working with major global fashion brands and providing the best service is their core principle.


Can you tell us about your domestic and international structuring?

Nexus Carpet is a brand focused on expanding its market share abroad. They are preparing to participate in the CFE Carpet & Flooring Expo in 2024 and plan to make a significant impact at this event. Their goal is to introduce the brand to a broader market globally. They aim to increase the number of events abroad every year and reach 100 events by 2027.


What are your thoughts on the upcoming CFE Carpet & Flooring Expo fair?

This fair is very important for Nexus Carpet, as it will be their first major international event. The company aims to reach a wide audience and promote its products at the fair. They also believe the event offers significant opportunities in terms of both prestige and business. The fair is seen as a critical step in Nexus Carpet's expansion into the global market.


Could you provide information about the products you will be showcasing at the fair? What are your expectations from visitors?

The products they will showcase at the fair have been meticulously prepared. These products, which stand out both aesthetically and functionally, will be presented to the visitors. Nexus Carpet expects significant interest from visitors. The products prepared for the fair will showcase the company's innovative and high-quality designs.
